As I continue to comb every inch of the country, I am amazed at how much there is to see and experience. Everything is within a short distance from the capital of San Salvador. More than the sights, it is the people that make such an enormous difference.
Politically, the country is very stable with strong ties to the United States. Legal tender is the U.S. dollar and all the modern amenities and services are available. Like any smart tourist, you have to be aware of your surroundings such as not drawing attention to yourself, or wandering around isolated areas at night. In all the time I have spent in El Salvador, I have never felt threatened or ill at ease.
I invite you to explore our site. There is a lot to see and read about. Gateway El Salvador is happy to assist you with any plans or steer you in the right direction. Please feel free to contact us at any time. We look forward to seeing you in the land of sunshine.
Warmest regards,

Last year, I spent five months planting 6,000 Cacao (chocolate) trees on my great grandfather's plantation. It was a life changing experience. One full of adventures and new friendships that will be a part of me forever.
